OVC SUPPORT

10 Years Serving the needy

Poverty is one of the leading causes of child vulnerability in Uganda and is associated with many forms of child rights violations and the health status of children in Uganda remains poor as reflected in the unmet Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and Government targets. Neonatal mortality is at 27 per 1,000 live births; infant mortality rate (IMR) at 54 per 1,000; and the under-five mortality at 90 per 1,000 live births.

Child Link Foundation identifies the most vulnerable children in communities and link them to resource systems that have the resources to help these children achieve their socio-economic and educational goals.

Lack of care and affection, adequate shelter, nutrition, education and psychological support are some of the most important factors that accentuate the vulnerability of children in Uganda.

The Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, 1995 (Constitution) recognizes the rights of the child and specifically provides for children's right to health, right to education, and right to protection from exploitation. Therefore, Child Link Foundation-Uganda in partnership with other Development partners will strive to ensure that the child rights protected without compromise.
